WebOS20 development framework is designed to run 24 hours Online Open Source (WebOS2006) Marathon in Armenia
WebOS20 is development environment that simulates operating system. To have access to this environment, all the users should register at the WebOS2006 web portal and receive confirmation e-mail. The email means their account is activated and they can use the features of the system.
WebOS20 framework supports the following roles: developers/contestants, administrators and users. Developers can upload and test applications in their private workspace, and can submit applications to the Administrator’s desktop. Administrators can run, publish applications, and do user and categories management. Users are allowed to run the published applications and rank them.
Before the start of the Marathon the registration is open for developers. Developers will be able to access the application and learn the environment. WebOS20 framework provides frontend and backend APIs and databases. It supports two technologies: PHP and JAVA. Developers can use components written in any Ajax, Flesh, Applet modules in their widgets.
When WebOS2006 marathon ends the applications will be published and ready to run and rank. During and after the marathon, new form will be provided for users to register via the WebOS2006 portal. Users also need signup before usage. They will receive confirmation email with link to access the framework and run and rank the applications. One user can rank only once.
WebOS20 framework administrators can run, publish and do user management.
WebOS20 framework desktop uses Ajax technology that allows customizing the user interface with drag and drops, minimize and maximize functions, and skin changing.
