Instructions to WebOS2006 Programming Marathon

Below are detailed instructions of WebOS20 framework that is designed to support WebOS2006 Open Source Programming Marathon.

Step 1 of 5

The first step is navigating your browser to WebOS20 Framework.

If you still don't have an account, sign up at Registration Page.

Fill e-mail address and password which you specified in registration form and press Log In.

Step 2 of 5

After Login procedure WebOS20 Framework will be open, interface is user friendly, there are start menu, desktop and icons.

Feel free to explore the environment, There is a help and support in start menu, to provide more information about contest and your task.

 When you have read and understand your task, you can start the development process on your computer.

Step 3 of 5

 We have integrated phpMyAdmin v 2.42.2.4.2.2 system widget. You can create DB of your widget using this tool. For more information about this tool visit

Step 4 of 5

 When development is finished, create "zip" or "tar.gz' or "war" (for java developers) achieve from your application.

For windows Users

For Linux Users

Go to Frameworks Start Menu -> Upload Manager and Click "plus" at the right-top of the window.

 There is also a Next Button, it will become usable after the contest, when you will have a possibility to add more than one widgets.

Please carefully read agreement and press next button if you agree with terms.

Fill fields as shown in the next picture. This is basic widget information.

Here you can find root directory name of your widget. Please be careful with these properties and make changes in your application. 

Choose achieve to upload and press next.

If everything is ok, you will see message "Widget upload completed", otherwise - Error Message.

Step 5 of 5 

To view the widget you must first install it using AddRemove Widgets system widget, which you can find in start menu. In this list you will see.

Your installed widgets, and, after contest, published widgets of other participants.

After that shortcut of your widget will appear on your desktop, so you can check it out!!!
